The transit home in Chiribis opened in 1999 with room for six youth. Since then the house has been both renovated and rebuilt to meet the needs of a growing family. The youth have lived in pairs in another building in the yard. The yard is big enough to grow vegetables and breed pigs.
Dan and Luminita Strava are parents here.
Three “generations” of young men have lived in this home and now live by themselves. Some are married and have their own families. In 2004 this became FCE’s first transit home for girls.
Since the first girls moved out, younger girls and boys have moved in and the transit home has become a family home.
